Hornet of the Week: Harley Elam

The Flour Bluff Athletics Hornet of the Week is Harley Elam.  Harley is senior leader on the Lady Hornet Softball team.  On the field, Harley is a standout outfielder who has earned First Team All District Honors.  Off the field, her hard work in the classroom was awarded with an Academic All District award.  Harley is also active in 4-H, where she raisies livestock.  Harley, a lifelong hornet is the epitome of the Hornet characteristics of Class, Pride, and Heart.

What do you enjoy most about playing this sport?

In softball, I get a chance to get away from everything, and I am able to enjoy having a chance to play the sport I love with the people that are my second family.

What is your favorite class?

My favorite class is Mrs. Ritchie’s English 4.

What type of volunteer work are you involved in within your community?

I volunteer by doing beach clean-ups.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to move to College Station where I plan to study to be a physical therapist.

What is your favorite sports-related movie?

The Sandlot is one of my favorite movies.
