Bio:

Ellie Hughes was born on June 9 and is a native of Austin, Texas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Trinity University, where she also completed double minors in New Media and Strategic Management.

Coach Hughes brings two years of coaching experience and a passion for developing young athletes. She served as a Tennis Coach at the University of Texas Summer Camp from 2021–2022, working with children ages 5–9 to build fundamental skills and a love for the game. From 2025–2026, she coached tennis at the Steiner Ranch Community Center, instructing athletes ranging from kindergarten through middle school (ages 5–13). In addition to her coaching experience, Coach Hughes was a two-year Team Captain for the Trinity University Women’s Tennis Team from 2024–2026, where she helped organize offseason practices, mentored teammates, and demonstrated strong leadership on and off the court.

Coach Hughes is passionate about creating a positive environment where student-athletes can grow in confidence, develop strong character, and reach their full potential. She emphasizes teamwork, discipline, accountability, and perseverance while helping young athletes build skills that extend far beyond competition.

As a member of the Flour Bluff Athletics family, Coach Hughes is committed to upholding the Hornet tradition of excellence and helping student-athletes represent Flour Bluff with Class, Pride, and Heart.
