Bio:

James McMinn’s journey in coaching began at Incarnate Word Academy in Corpus Christi, where he laid the groundwork for a successful career in athletics. In 1993, he stepped into a pivotal role as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Flour Bluff High School, where he would dedicate over three decades to the development of young athletes and the team’s competitive spirit. His leadership has not only shaped the players but also fostered a strong community around the program.
 Over his impressive tenure, Coach McMinn has achieved remarkable milestones, including nine regional appearances and six district championships. His most notable achievement came in the 2016-2017 season when he led the team to the state tournament. With a record of 752 wins as a head coach, his legacy at Flour Bluff is defined by his commitment to excellence and his ability to cultivate talent. His knowledge and passion for the sport have made a lasting impact on his players, many of whom have carried forward the values instilled by him.
 In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Coach McMinn has served as the Assistant Athletic Director for 17 years and has spent four years as the Athletic Director, further shaping the athletic culture at Flour Bluff High School. Outside of his professional life, he is a devoted husband to Amy Seeds, the proud principal of Flour Bluff High School, and a loving father to their children, Nicole and Ryan. Together, they represent a family deeply rooted in education and athletics, contributing to the community they cherish.
