Bio:

Janay Gonzalez was born on December 28th and proudly hails from Alice, Texas.

An accomplished athlete and coach, Janay has made significant contributions to sports in her hometown. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she also showcased her talent as a softball player from 2008 to 2011, developing the skills and knowledge that would later shape her coaching career. After completing her degree, Janay dedicated herself to coaching and mentoring young athletes. From 2014 to 2025, she served as the Head Softball Coach at Alice, where she guided the program to new heights.

In addition to her role in softball, she also contributed to the Alice sports community as an Assistant Basketball Coach from 2014 to 2019 and an Assistant Volleyball Coach from 2019 to 2024. Her versatility and passion for various sports led to her promotion as the Head Volleyball Coach at Alice for the 2024-2025 season. In 2025, Janay took on the role of Head Softball Coach at Flour Bluff Independent School District, where she continues to make a positive impact on the athletes she coaches. Her commitment to excellence, both on and off the field, exemplifies her dedication to fostering a love for sports among her players. Through her coaching career, Janay has become a respected figure in the athletic community, inspiring future generations of athletes in Alice and beyond.
