COACHING EXPERENCE

Bio:

Kirk Nix, born on September 4 in Corpus Christi and raised in Kingsville, has dedicated his life to education, athletics, and family. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&I University and went on to build a career that blends his passion for teaching and coaching. Kirk is a High School Construction Science and Physical Education teacher who has spent decades shaping the lives of young people both in the classroom and on the field. He and his wife, Kristi, are proud parents of four daughters—Kamyn, Reba, Jaylyn, and Charleigh—who remain at the heart of everything he does.

Kirk’s coaching career began in 1993 at Calallen, where he served 11 years at the middle school level, coaching football, basketball, and track. From there, he took on new challenges at Agua Dulce from 2004 to 2009, serving as the Varsity Offensive Coordinator, Head Track Coach, and Interim Athletic Director. He then spent a decade at Orange Grove, where he guided student-athletes as Junior High Coordinator, High School Defensive Coordinator, Head Track Coach, and Interim Athletic Director. Through these roles, Kirk established himself as a dedicated leader, mentor, and coach who consistently modeled the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

In 2024, Kirk joined Flour Bluff High School, where he currently serves as the Pole Vault Coach for the Hornet Track Program. With over 30 years of teaching and coaching experience, he brings an unmatched level of knowledge and passion to the program. His journey reflects not only a lifelong commitment to athletics and education but also a deep investment in helping young people reach their full potential. Kirk’s legacy continues to grow as he inspires the next generation of student-athletes with the same enthusiasm and heart that have defined his career from the very beginning.
