The Flour Bluff Athletics Hornet of the Week is Kennedy Orzechowski. Kennedy is a Senior on the Lady Hornet Volleyball and Lady Hornet Basketball Teams, for which she serves as the Team Captain. Kennedy was awarded Second Team All-District honors in basketball and volleyball for her play on the courts. In the classroom, Kennedy is just as astute. She has been awarded Academic All District, and she is a member of the National Honor Society where she serves in the leadership position of Historian. Kennedy is a true representation of the Hornet characteristics of Class, Pride, and Heart.
What are some rituals you do before any game?
Before every game I have a moment of silence to pray and mentally prepare before I listen to music during our warm ups.
What are your favorite sports movies?
I love the basketball movie Glory Road and the volleyball movie Miracle Season.
What are your plans once you graduate High School?
After I graduate I plan on getting my major in Environmental Engineering at UT or A&M.
What are some hidden talents?
Some might not know that I can juggle and that I have used basketball and volleyballs to juggle as well.
What are your favorite college teams?
I love watching Baylor and UConn Ladies’ Basketball because I like the way both teams play, and I admire their experienced coaches. Also, I have been watching UT Volleyball since I was a little girl, and I love watching their team play as well.
