Bio:
Coach Brian Baker, a Flour Bluff grad, has dedicated his career to shaping the athletic program at Flour Bluff High School. With both bachelor’s Texas A&M College Station, Coach Baker is a skilled and experienced leader who has brought his strategic mindset and passion for sports to every role he’s held.
Beginning his coaching journey in 2004 as a Football and Track Assistant at San Antonio Southwest, Coach Baker joined the Flour Bluff team in 2009 as the Linebackers Coach. He soon took on additional responsibilities as Special Teams Coordinator, and by 2012, he was named Head Track Coach, where he developed a thriving track program known for its excellence and competitive spirit. His influence expanded further when he became the Defensive Coordinator in 2014, guiding the team with discipline, focus, and a winning mentality.
Since the 2021-2022 school year, Coach Baker has been the Offensive Coordinator, where his strong leadership and deep commitment to the school’s athletic community made a lasting impact. This experience led to his current roles as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Flour Bluff, where he now oversees the athletic program while leading the Hornet football team. Known for his dedication to fostering a supportive and ambitious environment, Coach Baker emphasizes the importance of teamwork, character, and resilience, both on and off the field.
Outside of his professional life, Coach Baker enjoys family time with his wife, Yajira, their son, Cade. The Bakers are proud to be part of the Flour Bluff community, where Coach Baker’s legacy of leadership and mentorship continues to uplift students, athletes, and colleagues alike.
