Coach Chris Steinbruck and the Regional Finalist Hornet Football Team team were honored by the Nueces County Commissioners Court on Wednesday February 24, 2021. The Hornets were recognized for their achievements during the 2020 Football Season.
COMMISSIONERS COURT RESOLUTION
“Recognizing the Flour Bluff High School Football Team for Their Successful 2020 Season!”
WHEREAS, The Flour Bluff High School Football Team, led by coach Chris Steinbruck, finished a successful 2020 season going 7-1 in the district and an overall record of 11-2; and,
WHEREAS, This year, the Hornets advanced for the second time in school history to the fourth round and the Class 5A Division 1 Regional Championship; and,
WHEREAS, On Dec. 4, the Hornets beat the Warriors 59-32 at home to clinch the No. 2 seed and head to Region IV-5A Division I semifinals game where they played rivals Veterans Memorial Highschool. Unfortunately, their season came to an end after losing 49-14 to the Eagles at Buc Stadium; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE NUECES COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT, that the court hereby recognizes the Flour Bluff High School Football Team for their athletic accomplishments and achievements towards a very successful 2020 season.
