The Flour Bluff Athletics Hornet of the Week is Diego Delgado.  Diego is a four year starter on the Hornet Baseball Team, as well as a three year starter on the Hornet Football Team.  On the field, Diego has been honored as First Team All District Linebacker and Honorable Mention Outfielder.  He is a member of the Hornet Football Leadership Team and a Team Captain. His hard work in the classroom has been recognized with being named Academic All-State. Diego is also active in the Flour Bluff Sports Information Team.  He is a true representation of the Hornet characteristics of Class, Pride, and Heart.

What do you enjoy most about playing this sport?

The thing I like the most about playing football and baseball is that I get to play with my friends as well as my teammates.

What is your favorite class?

My favorite class is AP English 4.

Who has the best nickname on the team, and what is it?

I would have to say Jose Martínez has the best nickname, which is JoJo.

What is your favorite movie that is related to Baseball?

My favorite movie is The Sandlot.

Do you have a favorite pro football team? 

My favorite pro football team is the Dallas Cowboys.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

My pre-game ritual is that I take a knee and pray on the 40 -yard line hash.

My favorite quote that I live by is, “Get busy living or get busy dying.”
