The Flour Bluff Athletics Hornet of the Week is Emily Clark. Emily is a Senior Captain on the Lady Hornet Basketball Team. Off the Court, Emily is just as astute. She was awarded Academic All-District inducted to the National Honor Society. She is also a proud member of the Interact Club. Emily is a true representation of the Hornet characteristics of Class, Pride, and Heart.
What do you enjoy most about playing Basketball?
The thing I enjoy most about basketball is that I get the chance to stay active and I really enjoy being competitiveness of the sport.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
One pregame ritual I like that we as a team before every game is pray as a team over the game, our health, our community, our coaches, and that no injuries happen.
Who has the best nickname on the team and what is it?
I would say the only person on the team that has a nickname is Harlie Gallaspy which is “highlighter” because she always wore really bright neon clothes.
What is your favorite class?
My favorite class I would have to say is English because I love to write and English just comes really easy to me.
What are your plans after graduation?
Once I graduate I plan on attending the University of Texas in Austin where I plan to get my degree in Communication and Leadership.
What is something surprising about you that others might not know?
Many people may not know this but I have taken dual credit college classes all of my High School career.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is Chinese food and sour candy.
Do you have a favorite quote you live by?
My favorite quote was said by my dad which was “Don’t miss the sunset, there won’t be another one like it.”
What is your favorite movie that is related to Basketball?
My favorite movie is Air Bud
