The Flour Bluff Athletic Hornet of the Week is Hannah Hooper, a Senior Swimmer for the Hornet Swim and Dive Team. A lifelong Hornet, Hannah is a UIL State Qualifier and the District record holder in the 500 yard Freestyle. Out of the pool, Hannah’s hard work has been honored with awards for Academic All District, Academic All Region, and Academic All State. She is also a member of the National Honor Society. Hannah is an ideal student-athlete who proudly represents Flour Bluff with Class, Pride, and Heart.
What do you enjoy most about swimming?
I love the positive and encouraging atmosphere my coaches and team have created. Even though we compete individually in swimming, everyone on our team is constantly motivating and supporting one another.
Do you have any pre-meet rituals?
Before every meet I visualize my races and pray.
What is your favorite class?
AP English with Mrs. Jones. I love how she is making class so interactive and engaging, especially given the circumstances this school year.
What type of volunteer work are you involved in within your community?
I volunteer with my church youth group and also as a member of the Flour Bluff Padre Island 4-H Club. This past year, I also started my own service project at FBHS collecting Prom attire for the Special Hearts Prom.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduating, I plan to attend college and obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
