The Flour Bluff Athletic Hornet of the Week is Kara Owens, a Senior on the Flour Bluff Tennis Team. A lifelong Hornet, Kara is busy on and off the court with the 4H Club and doing beach cleanups. She is a great student and the perfect reflection of a true Hornet which consists of class, pride, and heart.

What do you enjoy most about playing Tennis?

The competitiveness and not knowing what the next shot will be.

Do you have any pre-match rituals?

I put my headphones in, zone out, tape my ankle and re-grip my rackets.

What are your plans after graduation?

Go to college and become either an Aerospace Engineer and/or an Architect.
