FB Summer SWARM 2025

May 12-July 10

All practices Mon-Thurs

New Swimmer tryouts May 12-15th 6:00-6:45PM

  • Tryouts will run Mon- Thurs for all new to SWARM swimmers who would like to join the team. Swimmers may attend 1 day or ALL 4 days of the tryout week. Coaches use this time to fully assess the swimmers abilities to make sure they are appropriately placed for skill and training ability. Swimmers referred to the lessons program will be asked to only participate in 1 day of the tryout unless otherwise specified by coaches.
  • Swimmers must be able to complete a 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke correctly without stopping on the bottom of the pool to make the team. They will also be required to complete a 50 kick with a board without stopping.

Already part of the FB Swimming Family: First week of practice May 12 

  • Any current FBHS, FBJH, current SWARM, returning SWARM swimmers from last summer, or incoming FBJH swimmers who made the team will NOT need to participate in tryouts. These athletes should report to the Natatorium with their equipment ready to be placed in a group – see below for times.
  • If you received a letter from Coach Ali about participating in Summer SWARM, you will be placed in a group the first week of practice.

Practice Times: May 12 – May 29  Mon-Thurs – NO PRACTICE May 26th

6:00-6:45PM  

  • New to SWARM
  • SWARM 6:00-6:45 group
  • Returning Summer SWARM swimmers

6:45-7:45PM  

  • Current 7th-8th
  • incoming 7th graders who made the team
  • Current 6:45 group SWARM swimmers

Registration: Fees – $125 **includes Swim Cap and T-Shirt 

  • ALL Swimmers need to register and pay the fee, this includes HS and JH swimmers
  • Registration will be ONLINE at Flour Bluff Pay K-12 beginning of May closing June 13 Registrations and payments made after this date will need to talk to Coach Hutch or Coach Ali 
  • If you have NEVER participated with SWARM or are not sure if you have the skills to begin with SWARM, please wait to register until after the tryout
  • All Athletes MUST have a paper registration/waiver completed to keep on file at the pool, you can print and bring it with you or we will have copies at the NatatoriumSwarm Registration .docx
  • There is a $25 discount for families with 3 or more children 
  • All families will need to join SportsYou for meets/practice info **code will be posted at the pool
  • All athletes grades 7-12 must complete a UIL Physical to keep on file at the FB Natatorium prior to the first practice. 
  • Physical form: Preparticipation Physical form

T-Shirts:ONLY registrations prior to May 30th will receive a free T-Shirt – sizes will be collected with a Google Form sent out on SportsYou beginning the first week of practice. Parents will be able to purchase shirts for $10 CASH ONLY – payments must be received on or before May 30 or parent shirts will not be ordered.

Miscellaneous Information:

    • Swimmers will be placed in groups by training/ability levels and may move between groups throughout the summer.  
    • All SWARM swimmers are required to wear goggle and caps for girls or swimmers with long hair  
    • Swim FINS are required for EVERY group – Upper level groups are required to have kickboard, paddles, pull buoy and mesh bag SWARM Equipment:
    • No 2-piece swimsuits or swim shirts allowed 
    • Male swimmers who make the SWARM team will need to purchase a jammer type swimming suit for practice and meets. NO board shorts or shorts will be allowed for SWARM
    • Incoming HS Swimmers will need to purchase Swim paddles before Summer practices begin 
    • Equipment may be purchased at Swimmin’ Stuff, Amazon, or Swimoutlet.com 
    • Meet Schedule – TBD 
    • Meet information and sign ups will be shared weekly 
    • Meets are not mandatory but recommended – ALWAYS a FUN time to get together with friends 
    • Practice is not mandatory, families go on vacation/athletes attend other camps, we understand, but please keep in mind that when your swimmer is out, the other athletes gain important skills.  
    • NO PRACTICE – May 26/June 19/July 4
  • Be on the lookout for fun family events with The HOOKS and Hurricane Alley

Summer Practice Times Mon-Thurs June 2-July 10: 

**Swimmers will be evaluated and placed in groups based on skill level and training levels. See below for possible groups. Swimmers may move throughout the groups during the summer. We are unable to place siblings in the same group if they are not at the same skill level. 

SWARM Groups (Mon-Thurs):

9:00-9:45 AM – Developmental Group – new to SWARM/returning SWARM only swimmers from last summer/JH swimmers who received the letter to swim this summer and tryout again at the end of the summer

8:30-9:30 AM – Advanced Training levels /knowledge of all 4 strokes – Current 6:45 year round group SWARM swimmers

9:30-10:15 AM – Intermediate Training level /knowledge of all 4 strokes/ possible returning SWARM from last summer and possible 6:00 Group

HS 6:30-8:30 AM (M-F)

JH 8:30-10:00AM -current JH swimmers/JH swimmers who made the team (M-TH)
