The Flour Bluff Athletics Hornet of the Week is Arath Herrera-Galvan. Arath is a Senior player on the Hornet Football and Soccer Teams. A Super-Hornet off the field, Arath is a student in the Health Science Program in which he has earned Phlebotomy Technician Certification. After graduation, Arath plans on continuing his education and pursuing a career in Nursing. Arath shows the true Hornet characteristics of Class, Pride, and Heart.
What do you enjoy most about playing soccer?
What I enjoy the most about soccer is working together with my teammates.
Do you have any pre game rituals?
Before every game, I take the gold cross off my neck and I pray for the teams’ health and success.
What is your favorite class?
My favorite class I have is PCT, which is a hands on medical class where you learn patient care.
What is your favorite sports related movie?
42, the movie about Jackie Robinson and how he faces adversity.
Do you have a favorite Pro or college team?
The Dallas Cowboys are my favorite in the NFL.
Do you have any special talents or is there something surprising about you that others might not know about you?
I’m Bi-lingual, when I grew up, we would spend every vacation living in Mexico.
