Volleyball has been nothing short of a success as they’ve been to the Regional Semifinals for four consecutive seasons. They’re led by Head Coach Kara Wallace in her 13th season as head coach. In 2021, the Lady Hornets went 34-6 on the season and 13-3 in district play. In 2022, the Lady Hornets will return seven seniors and are focused on winning the district championship. “Our goal for the senior group is to make a deep run in the playoffs and to get quality reps every time they touch the ball,” said Head Coach Kara Wallace.

The Lady Hornets will open the season against the 4A Bishop Badgers on Monday, August 8th, and will have another home game against Rockport during the week on Wednesday, August 10th, then will travel to the annual spike fest tournament, the Boerne tournament, and then the Volleypalooza tournament. The 10-team District 29-5A is now split into zones, Flour Bluff will be in the south zone of the district including Veterans Memorial, Carroll, King, and Moody. “Regardless of being in a zone, Flour Bluff will compete at its highest level each game no matter how the district is set up,” Coach Wallace explained.

Coach Wallace will have several returners including Seniors Mikaela Palmer, Callie Freeman, Harlie Gallaspy, Natalie Hughes, Marina Rodgers, Emeri Jeffers, Allison Baker, and Sophomore Maggie Croft.
